About me
I am Martina Acosta Rama, a multidisciplinary artist and filmmaker based in Waterford, Ireland. With a background in Film and Audiovisual Communication (UDELAR, Uruguay) and extensive training in dance, performance art, and event production, my work moves between screen, stage, and community spaces.
My artistic practice explores movement, storytelling, and collective expression. As a filmmaker, I have written, directed, and performed in short works that blend dance and cinema, including All Alone and One and An Ode to Getting Old. As a performer and choreographer, I have collaborated on contemporary improvisations and multidisciplinary pieces presented across different, platforms in Ireland and Uruguay.
Beyond my own creations, I am committed to fostering community through art. I facilitate conscious dance workshops that promote self-expression and connection, and I am a founding member of Alien:Nation, a multidisciplinary arts platform in Waterford. I also take part in festival curation and direction, developing events that celebrate collaboration and new artistic encounters.
